Despite what major technology CEO's are claiming about AI's abilities. There have been notable instances of these same tech companies suffering from their AI-induced layoffs.

Since 2023, we have been fed a narrative by major corporations that their AI technologies would replace massive numbers of developers. Some companies claimed that AI will replace half of their employee workforce by 2025. However, I have noticed a quiet sidelining of these AI technologies and their mention in recent days.

A METR study displayed a graphic where, despite forecasts on AI efficiency, the technologies have shown to slow down experienced open-source developers.
